Life is like a ship because it needs a single good captain as in the ship to give the correct direction.
It fully applies in today's world for daily life or businesses. When we compare the argument with our daily life, life is great only when things are not complex, which means when there are no multiple inputs for you to make decisions. When there are too many people to give suggestions or even force ideas on you, then the life journey looses its path, just like if the ship's direction commands are given by too many Captains.
The same is applied even for businesses, where a team should always be led and managed by a single manager and not by many managers. When a project is handled by a team, if too many inputs are given by a group of managers, then the deadline is delayed and the project looses the direction.
The famous saying always holds, "Too many cooks spoil the broth"!
